Under Construction

I am most likely expanding upon the blog as you view so don't be surprised if some things change on you while you view it.

So You Wanna Be a Zombie?!

I know what you are thinking, Fox’s next reality show right? Well its not. Welcome to the first real post about zombies here. I was thinking the other day that out of all the tutorials I’ve seen to photoshop your friends/celebrities into zombies, not a single one is good. Not one. So I figure it might be awesome to try to make one and post it somewhere (most likely here), hopefully in time for Halloween. This is where you come in. I need subjects to zomibify. If you are interested in having a picture of yourself awesomely zombified for free, please contact me as soon as possible and I’ll let you know further what I need from you. Thanks!

Common Typographic Diseases

Admittedly the art of typography is something pretty new to me. My initial response to it was the about the same as most people’s: “Typography? ….its just letters.” Lately, I have really been gaining a love and appreciation for typography and layout design. Here is an experimental layout from a typography assignment. (Note: I did not write Common Typographic Diseases. I simply did this layout for an assignment.) p.s. Its actually readable in full size if you want to see what all the text actually says.

My favorite area of design would probably have to be t-shirt design. For the past few years it has been the field of design that I have wanted to make my career in. Here are just a few of my designs. Unfortunately some of my better ones may have been lost in the hard drive crash.

Work in Progress…

Illustration is something I have been in love for a long time, but unfortunately out of all my artistic skill sets it is probably the one that is the most lacking. I am working to fix that however, and I think I recently found a style that works very well for me. More on that later. For now, I’ll just post some favorite illustrations of mine. As you will notice, there are not many.

Just a LittleĀ HDR

I decided to practice some HDR toning today because I just wasn’t ready to take my computer back and lose my CS5 suite I have been waiting so long to use. Even if its just for a few more days. These few examples aren’t true HDR photos, they just look like it because of the toning qualities. Please view in full size for full effect.

It was my plan today to gather a lot of my art make posts but unfortunately I seem to run into a dead end everywhere I look. I am making the sad realization that more and more of my art that I thought I had backed up was not. Let this be a lesson to you, back up your hard drive and do it often.

While I would love to spend the day searching for what art I do have and posting it, I have to make a bit of a scramble to get over to the Simutek before it closes so they can finish fixing my computer and I can finally have a stable work station. In order to make up for the lack of…well everything on here, I have to deciding to scan over my camera’s sd card and post some decent, unedited shots. (Click to enlarge.) Enjoy.

I feel like I have a responsibility to tell any viewers of this blog about the zombies. I have a borderline obsession with them. If you view this blog, you are going to see zombies and you are going to see them often. Enjoy.
